The win tightens Copenhagen’s grip on the title race at an early stage, though the season is long and European commitments will stretch the squad. Their form has been built on a settled defence and goals from several sources, and the derby offered another sign of a team comfortable grinding out results even when not at their best. Brondby, meanwhile, were left to rue another derby defeat and a familiar failure to punish their rivals.
