TODAY, a Copenhagen start-up that sells an AI sales operating system to financial and insurance advisers, has raised €2.8 million in seed funding. High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) and InsurTech Gateway co-led the round, with SeedX, Lucid Capital, former HDI chief executive Herbert Rogenhofer and Tech11 founder Pierre Dubosq also taking part.
The company was founded in 2024 by chief executive Michael Gackstatter and Artem Demchenkov. Gackstatter was previously part of the founding team and chief product officer at CLARK, described as Europe’s only profitable InsurTech unicorn, while Demchenkov was chief technology officer at Billie, a buy-now-pay-later start-up. TODAY raised a €1 million pre-seed round in 2025, and more than 3,500 advisers at large insurers, distributors and independent brokers in the DACH region now use its tools.
At the centre of the product is an assistant that transcribes client meetings in real time, with audio anonymised and not stored. It produces documentation that complies with the EU Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD), using the adviser’s own templates, and a real-time assist feature suggests responses to objections and next-best actions during calls. A tool called AskTODAY lets advisers search their full conversation history through a chat interface, and a simulation product offers AI training conversations with configurable customer personas based on DISC profiles, which earn IDD continuing education credits. The agents also take on back-office tasks, answer incoming calls and coach advisers on sales performance.
Advisers face mounting pressure from pension reforms, faster consolidation in the market and stricter compliance rules, and TODAY argues that software can take on much of that burden. Tizian Hoppen, senior investment manager at HTGF, praised the founders’ “exceptional ability to execute at speed” and said they are building the vertical AI layer to remove friction from advisers’ work. Gackstatter framed the company’s aim in a single line: “While AI reshuffles financial advice, we scale the human touch.”
The new money will go towards building and rolling out an agentic AI platform covering the full front and back office for advisers in the DACH market. That means extending the product beyond meeting notes and coaching into more of the routine administration that surrounds advice work, while keeping the compliance features that regulated advisers depend on. For a company barely two years old, the round gives TODAY the backing to widen its platform across one of Europe’s largest insurance markets.
