Skyr and High-Protein Lines Lift Arla Foods’ First-Half Profit

The dairy cooperative Arla Foods reported higher earnings for the first half of 2026, with profit rising to 213 million euros from 158 million euros a year earlier. Revenue reached 7.6 billion euros over the period.

The company credited much of the gain to its high-protein product lines, led by Arla Skyr and Arla Protein. Growing consumer interest in protein-rich foods has boosted demand for those ranges.

Arla achieved the growth despite a surplus of milk across Europe, which has weighed on parts of the dairy market. The results pointed to the cooperative’s ability to lean on branded, higher-value products rather than commodity milk alone.

Arla is one of the largest dairy companies in Europe and is owned by farmers across several countries, including Denmark. Its performance is closely watched as a barometer for the wider Nordic dairy sector.

The company said consumer habits continued to shift toward products marketed on protein content and health benefits. That trend has reshaped supermarket shelves and given established dairies new ways to add value.
