Glastonbury 2027 Sells Out in 42 Minutes Before a Single Headliner Is Named

glastonbury 2027 tickets sell out 42 minutes

Glastonbury Festival sold every ticket for its 2027 edition in 42 minutes on Sunday morning, even though not one headliner has been announced. Thousands of people joined the online queue when the sale opened at 09:00 BST, and organisers confirmed on Instagram shortly after 09:40 that tickets had gone.

The festival returns to Worthy Farm in Somerset from 23 to 27 June after taking a fallow year in 2026. Weekend tickets cost £408, including a £5 booking fee, which is the highest price in the event’s history and £29.50 more than in 2025. It is the first time the cost has gone above £400. A ticket cost £185 in 2010, and most of the increase has come since the pandemic, with the price rising from £318 in 2019.

In its sell-out post, the festival thanked buyers and apologised to people who missed out on a morning when demand far outstripped supply. Organiser Emily Eavis has said the team is very excited about the line-up and that plans are coming together well, but the acts remain under wraps. One fan who has been twice told the BBC the price was worth it for access to thousands of acts across more than 100 stages.

Some buyers said the process felt fairer than in previous years. Dave, from London, was part of several groups trying on laptops and phones and got tickets; he said the old tricks no longer seemed to work and about a quarter of the people in his groups had succeeded. Nick and Helen Nugget from Amersham, who met at the festival in 2007, will return next year to mark their 20th wedding anniversary. Others were less lucky, among them Mat Chapman, who had hoped to take his daughter Amy on her 26th birthday after 20 years of trying. “There’s always next year,” he said.

Any tickets from Sunday’s sale that are not paid in full by the early April 2027 deadline will go into an official resale pool. Organisers have not yet set a date for the resale, which has taken place in late April in previous years. The festival said cancelled and returned tickets would be offered again in the spring.
